Camo, Olive & Pink & Tres-Chic Fashion Thursday Link Up

What does one wear when it’s raining? You’re pink rainboots, a light weight camo sweater and an olive jacket. This was my outfit on Monday. I love living in Vancouver, but I hate the rainy season with a passion!!!!! It literally rains for about 8 months. Basically once our heat wave ends, it can very quickly turn into Monsoon season. This was the perfect errand running, Kindergarten information session, take your child to dance practice outfit.

Laid Back Birthday Celebration & Tres-Chic Fashion Thursday Link Up

This past Saturday I had a small, intimate birthday celebration with a few friends. The past few years I did a bigger thing with more people, but this year I just wanted to keep it quiet and simple. We headed downtown to Reflections, this amazing patio restaurant in Georgia Hotel. It’s located on the 4th floor and is absolutely gorgeous. A few months ago a friend and I went there for the first time and I feel in love with the scenery and the food. We had an amazing time. I had a glass of Sangria that was the size of my head. Needless to say between the heat and the size of the Sangria, one was more than enough. After dinner we headed to Black and Blue for more drinks and dessert. Again this restaurant did not disappoint. They had a fridge full of aging meat. It looked absolutely delicious. For those of you vegetarian, just ignore the above comment :). Thank you to the ladies for taking me out. I had a great relaxing evening celebrating my 35th birthday. My husband has something planned for this weekend as Saturday is my actual birthday. Can’t wait to see what that sneaky monkey has up his sleeve

Maxi Skirt Day To Night

It’s no secret that I absolutely adore anything maxi related: dresses, skirt, I’m in love. For today’s post I decided to show you how you can take a day look and make it into a night one. One of my favourite ways to wear my maxi skirt is with a simple white tank top, sandals and simple necklace. A great way to make it into a night look is to change your sandals to heels, add a statement necklace, blazer and clutch and you’re set to go. It’s an easy way to quickly change up your outfit from a day look into an evening one. You can also change up your make up by wearing a bright lip or smokey eyes.

A chambray top is not just for Winter/Fall. It’s the perfect top to wear as a layer over a tank top or to wear with shorts. The way I look at Chambray, it’s like a neutral piece that goes with pretty much anything in your wardrobe. Try wearing it with a skirt and heels for a night out or with leggings and over a tank top. Below are 2 ways I like to style my chambray shirt:

Striped Maxi Skirt 5 Ways

Seersucker Blazer 3 Ways: Splurge vs. Save

I’m so excited and honoured to announce that Vodka Infused Lemonade was nominated for Vancouver’s Top 30 Mom blogs!!!!! It’s nice to be recognized and I’m really looking forward to celebrating with my 29 fellow nominees, who are all amazing women. I’ll post more information this upcoming Friday May 23 as to how you can help me become Vancouver’s Top Mom Blogger First prize is an amazing getaway for two and to be honest I salivated when I saw that. It’s been 2.5 years since my husband and I had a chance to getaway just the two of us and even that was amidst much stress over my husband finding a new job. I was contacted by Credit Card Insider (an online company designed to help you use your credit card responsibly) to participate in a blogger challenge to write a post on Splurge vs. Save. I am to take an item that I’ve had my eye on, but is quite pricey and find an equivalent. It was perfect timing as I’ve had my eye on this Seersucker blazer from J Crew.

Problem is that it’s $ 218. I have been patiently waiting for it to go on sale. Then this weekend, I was at the Gap and they had this amazing sale on and I found the same blazer on sale for $60. Original price $98. I was so excited and I knew that it was mean’t to be mine!!!!!

Should I have splurged or saved? I am very happy that I saved. The jacket fits amazing and I saved a boat load of money. Do you splurge or save on items that you must have?

Since purchasing this fantastic blazer on Saturday, I’ve worn it twice. I love the fit, texture, striped pattern and the fact that it’s neutral, you can wear it with anything. You guys all know my love for blazers, I just can’t seem to get enough. This blazer will not only be extremely versatile in my closet, it’s a timeless piece that I will find myself gravitate towards for many years to come. Pink Linen Blazer 2 Ways

I fell in love with this pink/blush linen blazer from Banana Republic. When I saw it, I knew it would be the perfect blazer to transition me from Winter to Spring to Summer. The only down side is that it wrinkles very easily, but otherwise it’s perfect. I never used to like the colour pink, don’t know why, but I honestly hated it. I am finding that as I’m getting older, I tend to be drawn to pink things. Who knew getting older would make me appreciate the colour pink more !!!!

I know that you guys are well aware that I absolutely love blazers and they are the perfect completer piece to any outfit. If you are stumped for what to wear, throw on a t-shirt, skinny jeans, add flats, a statement necklace and a blazer to finish off your look. This is definitely my go-to outfit when I’m stumped as to what to wear. Blazers don’t have to be boxy or make you feel like you work in an office. I’m so excited for shorts season to finally begin. The weather here has been taunting us. Mother Nature gives us a couple of gorgeous days, and then takes it back and gives us cold and the rain. But ever the optimist, I’m hoping that in a few weeks the warm weather will be here to stay. When I think of Summer, I think of shorts. I think of getting my pasty white legs tanned. I love that shorts come in all shapes, sizes and lengths. I bought this cute shift dress from J Crew a few seasons ago and I love how versatile it is. I can wear it during Winter paired over a turtleneck and boots and then in the Spring I can wear it with a cardigan and rain boots or style it simple with flats. A shift dress is a must in every woman’s closet. It’s flattering and can be dressed up or down. You can even pair them with converse runners for chasing after your kid :).

To Mix Prints Or To Not Mix Prints & Tres-Chic Fashion Thursday Link Up

So the title of my post may be a bit confusing, since I love mixing prints. I’m just not sure about mixing these 2 prints. I bought this window pane printed sweater in the Fall and I was looking at the different ways I could style it. I was planning on wearing it with printed pants, but the weather was totally not cooperating, so I opted on wearing them with my skinny jeans. I decided to take a picture and see what you guys think. Would you wear the window pane sweater with these printed pants?
