Style Swap: Styling Olive Jeggings and White Blazer

Ever since I saw Rita, from Coast With Me, wear olive jeggings I had to get a pair!! I’ve had my pair for a while now and when I saw her style hers with a white blazer, I knew it was going to be my next outfit for Ginny’s (My New Favorite Outfit) and Jenn’s (The Brandied Pair) Style Swap Link Up. I decided to style the olive jeggings with a simple white tee, white blazer, statement necklace and heels. It was the perfect outfit to meet up with some other lady bloggers.

A Very Big Thank You & St. Patrick’s Day Outfit

Yesterday was St. Patrick’s Day and I decided to celebrate by wearing a green cardigan. Gotta say I’m loving that Spring is just around the corner. I’m looking forward to wearing more bright colours!!!!! To keep myself warm, I layered a green cardigan over a simple white 3/4 length t-shirt and paired it with trouser jeans, loafers and added a brown blazer.

I just wanted to say a very big THANK YOU to the 15 ladies who not only shared a picture of themselves without any make up on, but took the time to compose a thoughtful and heart felt post. It means a lot to me that you took the time to not only bravely pose for a picture sans make up, but that you took the time to compose a post that came from the heart. This post resonated with many people. I now am seeing people posting pictures of themselves without make up on, on Facebook. Hooray, let’s start celebrating our uniqueness!!! Weekend Wear For A Special Lego Movie Date

Considering what a crazy week I had, my weekend was the complete opposite; relaxing, fun, spent much needed time with my husband and son. My husband is starting a new job today so on Sunday we were able to finally have some much needed “family” time and we took my son to see the Lego movie. It’s been raining on and off here for the past week, so I figured a sweater with a sequin neckline, skinny jeans, and booties were the perfect, cozy outfit for movie going. This sweater is the perfect combination of casual and dressy, by having a bit of sparkle at the neckline. I love that this sweater can be worn casually, like I did to go to the movies, or you can dress it up with leather leggings and heels. Flats 7 Ways

Gotta say I think Spring has finally arrived, with that so has my hay fever, but I’ll take it!!!!! So with Spring comes warmer weather, the putting away of boots and the bringing out flats, loafers, sandals, anything that doesn’t cover your ankles!!!!!!!!! Today’s post is all about flats. I basically live in flats from about March to November, after that I give up and concede to wearing boots.

I love flats because you can wear them with anything, yes anything (ok well you can skip wearing them with Lululemons!!!!). Dress it up with leather leggings and a statement necklace or wear them with boyfriend jeans and a t-shirt. Any way you wear it is perfectly acceptable. Yes I know I’m bit excited, but can you blame me?!?!? I’ve been wearing boots for almost 5 months now!!!

When shopping for flats try buying ones with interesting details like sequins, or bow or patterns. Try a colourful one, or a nude one, maybe something other then black.

When I saw Lulu’s (from Simply Lulu) post, on Tuesday, I knew this would be my outfit this week for Ginny’s (from My New Favorite Outfit) and Jenn’s (fromThe Brandied Pair) Style Swap Link Up. I have everything I need in my closet to recreate Lulu’s outfit: a white blazer, jeans, nude heels, statement necklace and a graphic tee. Gotta say I’m loving their style swap, it’s given me lots of ideas for making outfits of items I already have in my closet. I apologize for the blurry pictures, it was pouring rain, like I’m talking Monsoon, so I had no choice but to take the pictures indoors.

It’s no secret that I basically live in a variety of boots from October to April. It rains a lot here in Vancouver and it has been known to snow here at a least a few times a year, so boots, in all shapes, sizes and colours, come in very handy. Here is an example of my Hunter Boots.

Boots are not just for a casual look. You can wear boots with anything. I’ve even worn them with cropped pants and boyfriend jeans. You can wear them with dresses, skirt, jeans, dressy, casual, whatever your heart desires. Below are 6 different examples of the ways I’ve worn boots.

It’s no secret that I love blazers and that I basically live in them 3/4 of the year. They go with absolutely everything, from maxi dresses, to skirts, dresses, shorts, boyfriend jeans, jeans, cropped pants… You get the idea. Like I said, everything!!!!!!! I like blazers because they can dress up an outfit as simple as t-shirt and jeans. It’s a great alternative to wearing a cardigan and then a jacket over it. I also like blazers because they are a great piece to use to layer. You can wear it over a sweater and blouse or layer it over a dress. I must have a dozen different blazers in my closet. Although I’ve chosen 8 ways to show case the different ways I’ve worn a blazer, I can assure you that I have many more pictures then just 8 ways.

I know it’s been radio silence over here the past few days. I worked Saturday night (was miserable, spent Sunday recovering), Monday was a holiday (Family Day), Tuesday was errand day ( I was gone pretty much all day) and then all of a sudden it was Wednesday. I can’t believe it’s already Thursday and the middle of February!!!! Seriously where has this year gone?!?!?!? I’ll be back with regular posts next week, I promise :)!!!!

This is what I wore yesterday: a simple brown tunic style sweater, skinny jeans, boots and a rose gold necklace. Like I wrote in previous posts, I’m trying hard to stay on my shopping freeze, therefore I’m rediscovering items that I’ve had in my closet but haven’t worn in a while.

In a previous post I wrote about how I promised you all that I would deviate from my jeans and I have!!!!!!! On Wednesday I wore my grey jeggings with a basic white t-shirt, black cardigan booties and added a cobalt blue cuff bracelet. I’ve had this bracelet for a while now and I have to remind myself to wear it more often. On it’s own the outfit could be quite boring, but by adding the cuff I added colour and dimension to my outfit. So the next time you’re wondering how to style a simple outfit, try adding a colourful accessory like a cuffed bracelet, colourful flats or scarf. Basic outfits don’t have to be boring.

Weekend Wear: Sweater, Leggings & Hunter Boots

Before I get to today’s post, I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU!!!!!!!! to all of you for your kind and supportive comments regarding Friday’s post. I’m so proud to see other parents being open and supportive to their kid’s interests. I’m so glad to also see that I’m not the only mom to a little boy who paints her son’s nails :). Thank you everyone. Let’s continue to support one another and raise our children to be strong, sensitive, confident adults !!!

Most parents spend their Saturday shuttling their children from one activity to another. It’s no different in our house. My son has both dance and soccer. This Saturday was back to normal activities, or so I thought. Thankfully for all the snow the East is getting, we are getting that in rain, therefore our son’s soccer game was cancelled!!!!! Leaving only one activity for this Mama. Considering the insane amount of rain, the day called for my Hunter boots, a warm sweater cardigan and leggings.
