Favourite Fall Outfit & Tres-Chic Fashion Thursday Link Up

One of my favourite Fall outfits so far has been pairing a blouse with my boyfriend jeans and wearing them with booties. I was in a store and this lady complemented me on my outfit. It felt so nice. She said “I love your style!” It made me feel really good. Is that arrogant or conceited? Cuz it’s not like I feel like I’m this hot thing or anything, it just felt really nice to receive a complement from a complete stranger.

Weekend Wear For A Special Lego Movie Date

Considering what a crazy week I had, my weekend was the complete opposite; relaxing, fun, spent much needed time with my husband and son. My husband is starting a new job today so on Sunday we were able to finally have some much needed “family” time and we took my son to see the Lego movie. It’s been raining on and off here for the past week, so I figured a sweater with a sequin neckline, skinny jeans, and booties were the perfect, cozy outfit for movie going. This sweater is the perfect combination of casual and dressy, by having a bit of sparkle at the neckline. I love that this sweater can be worn casually, like I did to go to the movies, or you can dress it up with leather leggings and heels. It’s no secret that I basically live in a variety of boots from October to April. It rains a lot here in Vancouver and it has been known to snow here at a least a few times a year, so boots, in all shapes, sizes and colours, come in very handy. Here is an example of my Hunter Boots.

Boots are not just for a casual look. You can wear boots with anything. I’ve even worn them with cropped pants and boyfriend jeans. You can wear them with dresses, skirt, jeans, dressy, casual, whatever your heart desires. Below are 6 different examples of the ways I’ve worn boots.

I fell in love with this J Crew boyfriend sweater. I love that it has leather pockets and that it can be worn so many different ways. It’s the perfect sweater to transition you from Winter to Spring. You can wear it simple with leggings, or add skinny jeans, and a vest or dress it up with a skirt. I bought this polka dot blouse from the Gap at the end of Summer and I can’t believe how much use I’ve gotten out of it. It’s such a versatile top making it perfect for layering for Fall. My favourite way to style it is under a sweater, but you can wear it with a cardigan and skirt, under a dress, or with a blazer. The possibilities are endless!!!!!!!

Booties & Boyfriend Jeans

Since Winter has arrived, my boyfriend jeans have taken a back seat. I thought it would be a nice outfit to pair my boyfriend jeans with my booties. I thought that my boyfriend jeans would hit just at the top of my boots and then my legs wouldn’t be bare. That’s not quite how it worked out, I had about a 3 inch gap between my pants and the boots, so my legs were a bit cold. I’m willing to suffer a bit for fashion. So ladies if you’re sad that your boyfriend jeans are growing dust bunnies on them, try pairing them with a great boot.

I bought this dress back in September and immediately fell in love with the cut and style of it. It’s simple, versatile and I love the fact that it has pockets. You can style it with a simple statement necklace and a leather jacket or go more preppy layering a button top underneath it and adding a blazer or just throw a boyfriend sweater over it. You can add a belt, but I didn’t think of that until just now While I was trying it on the sales associate pointed out that layering a button top underneath it would be another great way to wear it. Hence how today’s post came to be: 1 Dress, 4 Ways!!!!!!

As you all are well aware, I love boots!!! I especially love booties and am thrilled that they are everywhere for Fall!!!! They are versatile and are a great alternative to the typical boot. I love how you can style boots with everything: with a simple t-shirt and cardigan, wear it with a dress or skirt or some great trousers and a blazer for a night out. Below are some different ways I’ve worn boots on my blog.

Striped Skirt 5 Ways

I purchased this striped skirt last year and I’m disappointed with how little wear I’ve gotten out of it, so I decided to see all the different outfit combinations I could make out of this skirt. I’m sure that I have more than 5 but it’s a good start. I like this skirt for it’s length, the fact that it’s warm and the obvious, it has stripes!!!!! You can easily dress this skirt up for down depending on the occasion. Add a sequin top and heels to dress it up or wear it with a simple t-shirt and vest with boots. A striped skirt is a great alternative to your normal solid coloured pencil skirt.
