Favourite Fall Outfit & Tres-Chic Fashion Thursday Link Up

One of my favourite Fall outfits so far has been pairing a blouse with my boyfriend jeans and wearing them with booties. I was in a store and this lady complemented me on my outfit. It felt so nice. She said “I love your style!” It made me feel really good. Is that arrogant or conceited? Cuz it’s not like I feel like I’m this hot thing or anything, it just felt really nice to receive a complement from a complete stranger.

Favourite Summer Outfits

New post today!!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!!!! If you follow me on Instagram, yesterday you got a sneak peak into today’s post. Since Summer still is in full swing here, I wanted to recap my favourite looks and items of the Summer. I owe today’s post to my wonderful husband, who made breakfast yesterday so I could blog, before we had to tackle some chores, shopping and a bbq at a friend’s place.

By far my favourite purchase and most beloved item of the Summer has to be my denim vest. At first I was reluctant to buy it. Wasn’t sure if I would get enough use out of it. Was I ever wrong!!! I wore it so much. It’s such a great layering piece over anything: dresses, skirts, shorts and the perfect completer piece. On Saturday I wore it to the zoo with shorts and a tank top, again can be seen on Instagram.

The next item that I couldn’t get enough of is dresses. Long or short, I wanted to wear them as much as possible, considering all I pretty much wear in the Winter are pants. Definitely my favourite style of dress is the Maxi dress. It’s elegant, simple, light and easily dressed up.

Shorts were also another favourite of mine, especially my cuffed denim ones and my printed ones. As you can see, a theme is emerging with my Summer outfits: denim vest!!!!! Like I wrote earlier, I just couldn’t get enough of it. Again like with the dresses, shorts also have a short life span here in Vancouver so I tried to wear them as much as possible. I loved wearing them with a top and blazer.

Last but certainly not least I can’t forget to mention my love of skirts. Over the years, I’ve acquired quite the collection. The sample below is only a fraction of the skirts I own. I love pairing them with a tank top and some bling. One of my favourite outfits, turned out to be one that I had never worn before. My striped skirt with a sleeveless polka dot blouse and my wedges. Sometimes experimenting pays off. I’m looking forward to wearing this combination more next Spring/Summer.

Which one is your favourite look? Gotta say it’s a tie between the polka dot blouse and striped skirt and my tulip dress and denim vest.

Chambray & Stripes Day & Night

I got inspired for this next outfit by the lovely Carylee from More Pieces of Me. She styled a chambray top with a striped skirt. Love the result. So I decided to style my chambray and striped skirt 2 ways: one for the day and one for the evening. I’ll be honest I don’t have a job that requires me to wear heels, it really doesn’t require me to wear anything other than comfy scrubs and supportive shoes. So for me to wear this outfit with heels during the day is totally unrealistic. Imagine me chasing a toddler around the park in heels??? It would be quite entertaining to say the least I did, however, manage to come up with a very realistic day look for us busy moms chasing our kids around. For a day look try wear the chambray as a jacket over a graphic tee, converse runners and a cross-body bag. It’s still a polished look, but comfortable and realistic for a busy mom on the go. For an evening look try tying the chambray top, add heels, pearls and a colourful clutch.

I was inspired for this outfit by the wonderful Tara from Mix and Match Fashion. She styled a striped skirt with a cute sleeveless blouse. It gave me the idea of styling my red and white striped skirt with my sleeveless polka dot blouse. I don’t wear this blouse much and I’m trying to find new ways of styling it. I love how the outfit turned out.

Seersucker, Yellow & Pink

I’ve been wanting to wear this combination for a while now and on Monday I decided to go for it, even though it was hot. I figured I could get away with wearing a blazer in the morning, before it got too hot. I don’t wear this yellow top very much, even though when I do, I love it. Anyways yesterday I wore it with shorts, statement necklace, seersucker blazer and my pink wedges.

It’s A Pink Kind Of Day!!!

Honestly the calendar might as well say that it’s November!!!!! The past few days have been cold and full of soggy, wet weather. Yesterday we had swimming lessons and then a playdate so I opted for a casual look of leggings, my favourite graphic tee, pink cardigan, pink scarf and pink rain boots. Can you see a theme emerging??? Yup, yesterday was a pink kind of day. As I’m writing this post, I realize that I’m subconsciously wearing Spring colours in hopes of resurrecting Summer. I really hope that this is not indicative of what is to come for August.

Graphic Tee 2 Ways

When I was at the Vancouver Top Mom Blogger’s celebration a few weeks ago, I saw this quote on a t-shirt and it immediately made me think of myself and my husband. He is always telling me that I need to believe in myself and stop selling myself short, but it’s hard. Wearing this shirt reminds me that we all feel the same way. We are all battling with insecurity, self-image, self-love, etc. I love that when I wear this shirt, people stop and tell me how much they like the message. We all need to start believing in this, because this quote is true. So the next time you find yourself kicking yourself or doubting yourself, remember this quote and remember that we all feel this way.

This graphic tee has quickly become one of my favourite t’s to wear. What I like about it, besides the message is how versatile it is. I wore it with skinny jeans, red blazer and statement necklace to a friend’s son’s birthday and I also wore it with leggings and a denim vest. I like the fit, style, definitely the message. Graphic tee’s aren’t just for a casual look. Try dressing it up with a gorgeous statement necklace, blazer, and heels or pair it with your favourite maxi skirt and denim vest. I’m happy that Summer has finally arrived, giving me the chance to wear my Summer things!!!!! The past few days I’ve lived in midi skirts, tank tops and cardigans. It’s the perfect go-to Summer outfit. The skirt is easy, flowy, comfortable and you can go wrong with a simple tank and cardigan. Yesterday I wore a chevron print midi skirt with a white tank top and a yellow cardigan. Perfect comfortable outfit to run errands.

I just wanted to thank you all for voting for me and supporting my blog. I know I drove you all crazy the past 2 weeks. It’s no secret that I absolutely love maxi skirts and dresses. I bought this black and white striped maxi dress last year and I honestly can’t get enough of it. I could literally live in it. It’s definitely a must have item that every woman should have in her closet. You can dress it up with a blazer or wear it with a cardigan, jean jacket or denim vest. The mornings here are still a bit on the chilly side so I opted to wear it with a coral cardigan.

Blue, Red & Stripes

Summer has finally arrived bringing with her lots of sunshine and warm weather. We spent most of Sunday afternoon at the park and I LOVED IT!!!!!!!! I’m so happy to finally be able to wear my Summer clothes. Yesterday I wore my jean skirt, navy and white stripe tank and a red blazer. Although it is warming up, the mornings are still a tad cold and you guys know how much I love my blazers. They are the perfect layering piece for cooler mornings and evenings.
