Favourite Summer Outfits

New post today!!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!!!! If you follow me on Instagram, yesterday you got a sneak peak into today’s post. Since Summer still is in full swing here, I wanted to recap my favourite looks and items of the Summer. I owe today’s post to my wonderful husband, who made breakfast yesterday so I could blog, before we had to tackle some chores, shopping and a bbq at a friend’s place.

By far my favourite purchase and most beloved item of the Summer has to be my denim vest. At first I was reluctant to buy it. Wasn’t sure if I would get enough use out of it. Was I ever wrong!!! I wore it so much. It’s such a great layering piece over anything: dresses, skirts, shorts and the perfect completer piece. On Saturday I wore it to the zoo with shorts and a tank top, again can be seen on Instagram.

Denim Vest

The next item that I couldn’t get enough of is dresses. Long or short, I wanted to wear them as much as possible, considering all I pretty much wear in the Winter are pants. Definitely my favourite style of dress is the Maxi dress. It’s elegant, simple, light and easily dressed up.

dresses

Shorts were also another favourite of mine, especially my cuffed denim ones and my printed ones. As you can see, a theme is emerging with my Summer outfits: denim vest!!!!! Like I wrote earlier, I just couldn’t get enough of it. Again like with the dresses, shorts also have a short life span here in Vancouver so I tried to wear them as much as possible. I loved wearing them with a top and blazer.

Shorts

Last but certainly not least I can’t forget to mention my love of skirts. Over the years, I’ve acquired quite the collection. The sample below is only a fraction of the skirts I own. I love pairing them with a tank top and some bling. One of my favourite outfits, turned out to be one that I had never worn before. My striped skirt with a sleeveless polka dot blouse and my wedges. Sometimes experimenting pays off. I’m looking forward to wearing this combination more next Spring/Summer.

Skirts

Which one is your favourite look? Gotta say it’s a tie between the polka dot blouse and striped skirt and my tulip dress and denim vest.

May this blog inspire you to experiment with what you have in your wardrobe. You’d be surprised at the outfits just waiting to be created.

Looking forward to showing you all my favourite Fall trends. You can follow me on Instagram to see my daily outfits, see what I’m up to and get sneak peaks into my favourite Fall trends.

Polka Dots and Stripes

I was inspired for this outfit by the wonderful Tara from Mix and Match Fashion. She styled a striped skirt with a cute sleeveless blouse. It gave me the idea of styling my red and white striped skirt with my sleeveless polka dot blouse. I don’t wear this blouse much and I’m trying to find new ways of styling it. I love how the outfit turned out.

Striped Maxi, Denim Vest & eShakti Giveaway

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes. I had a wonderful birthday weekend. I’ll post more about it on Thursday.

The weather has kind of cooled down so yesterday I wore my maxi dress with a denim vest. It wasn’t cool enough for a jacket, the vest was perfect. So the next time you’re finding that you don’t want to wear a cardigan or blazer, try adding a denim jacket to your outfit. It’s a great way to change up your look.

Day To Night Tulle Skirt From eShakti

When eShakti contacted me a few months ago to review an item from their new Spring line and I saw their tulle skirt, I immediately jumped at the chance!!!!! Ever since I saw SJP wear this gorgeous tulle skirt on Sex and The City, I’ve been in love. You know the one I’m talking about and if you don’t, here it is:

Carry Bradshaw Tulle Skirt

Even my husband was excited when I showed him a picture of the skirt. What I like about eShakti, is that they make all their clothes to fit you. You input your measurements and length of skirt you desire and voila, a made to order skirt. Mine arrived last week and I literally squealed from excitement!!!! I know exactly where I’m going to wear this gorgeous piece to. I’m going to see Wicked with a friend in June and this is the perfect skirt for it. Since Wednesdays are usually my feature one item different ways day, I thought I would feature this amazing skirt 2 ways: from day to night. Although this tulle skirt is quite fancy, it would be a great to wear to a ladies luncheon during the day or for a date night out for the evening. (I apologize, the skirt is in need of a good steam)

Style it with a t-shirt, statement necklace and flats for a day time look

1 Black Dress: 4 Different Ways Courtesy of EShakti

I can’t believe this week is almost over!!! Am I the only one who thinks it went by way too fast?? Too bad for me I’ll be working this weekend. Now that I’m back to working on the weekends the week just seem to fly by. Can’t believe Easter is next weekend. I’m a bit behind on the Easter preparations. I feel like I just got over Christmas :)

EShakti sent over this fabulous black dress for me to do a product review on. I was nervous at first because I wasn’t sure the dress would fit, but it did!!! Perfectly!!! Eshakti is an on-line company that custom makes dresses, skirts, tops and cardigans for women sizes 0-36. They customize everything from the type of neckline, to length and style of sleeve to length of skirt/dress. I customized the length to be just above the knee. Their customer service is fabulous and they deliver to both Canada and the US.

This is a classic black dress with a Peter Pan style collar. I love that the skirt is flowy and that it’s cinched at the waist. This dress is extremely versatile and could be worn casual with a jean jacket or for a night out. Here are the 4 ways I styled this black dress.

Night Out

Black Dress

Dress (Eshakti). Shoes (Aldo). Bracelets (Jacob). Clutch (Jacob).

Night Out: I styled this dress quite simple for a night out. I paired it with some black patent shoes, added this fabulous bow belt and added some pearl bracelets and a black clutch. I kept the styling simple as the neckline is a classic Peter Pan style and that in itself is an accessory.

Casual

Casual

Dress (Eshakti). Jean Jacket (Gap). Sandals (Steve Madden). Purse (Coach).

Casual: This look will be perfect once the weather warms up. Add a jean jacket and some fabulous sandals and this look is perfect for running errands to going to the beach. Please don’t look at my un-pedicured toes. They are not Spring/Summer ready yet. Keep the casual look simple.

Warm & Cozy

Warm & Cozy

Dress (Eshakti). Top (Gap). Boots (Nine West). Trench (Jacob).

Warm & Cozy: Although it’s officially Spring, it’s still quite cold here. I thought I would layer a simple white long sleeved cotton top under the dress, add some tights, boots and a pink trench. This is my “winterized” way of wearing this dress.

Conservative/Professional

Conservative/Professional

Dress (Eshakti). Blazer (Jacob). Heels (Aldo). Purse (Coach).

Conservative/Professional: For this look, I decided to add this fabulous black and white stripe blazer and some heels. The blazer makes it office appropriate and then you can take it off for going out in the evening.

Although Eshakti did provide me the dress to do a product review on, the opinions are mine and mine alone. I was not paid to do this post.

May this blog inspire you to get a great flowy black dress and see how many different ways you can style it.

5 Days left & Different Ways of Wearing EShakti’s Red & White Striped Skirt

Can you tell I’m on the countdown for this 30 in 30 challenge to be over??? Don’t get me wrong it’s been great to try and come up with different outfits, but I’m ready to wear all my clothes again :). I am amazed at how many different outfits I have made out of the 30 items and that except for my pants, I haven’t worn the same item over and over again. Today’s outfit is simple: a striped top (shocking I know that it’s striped!!!), pink cardigan and my jeans (of course).

Different Ways of Wearing EShakti’s Red White Striped Skirt

A few months ago, Eshakti contacted me to review one of their custom made clothes. Long story short, the first item I picked didn’t fit and I think it was more a design flaw than anything else. They were fantastic about me returning it and picking something else. So I picked this fabulous skirt.

CL0025679L

Eshakti offers custom made clothing to fit your body. Sizes range from 0-36. They customize everything from length of skirt to sleeve type, neckline and length of top, all for an affordable price. Prices range from $50 to $100 and you get a $25 gift card when you register. They ship to both Canada and the US.

The skirt overall fits well. It’s a bit on the longer side, so I would order the length to be at the knee. It has an elastic waist band which is a nice feature, but I worry that it may wear with time. It also doesn’t fit as snuggly as I thought it would and again I attribute that to the elastic waist. I like the versatility of the skirt and how it will be a great addition to my Summer wardrobe. Below are different ways I styled this skirt.

IMG_1895

I paired the skirt with a simple white t-shirt, jean jacket and flats. Perfect to run around in on a warm summers day.

IMG_1897

I couldn’t go without pairing this skirt with a chambray shirt and cardigan.

IMG_1902

Wear it now paired with boots and a white oxford shirt.

IMG_1901

Wear it with a cute sleeveless top with a cute bow detail and black patent heels.

IMG_1903

You can’t go wrong with pairing this skirt with a simple white sweater and black cardigan.

As you can see this skirt is really versatile and will make a great addition to my closet. Looking forward to styling it many different ways this Spring and Summer.

May this blog inspire you to purchase a cute red and white striped skirt.

There was a bit of miscommunication regarding my guest post. It is up today, so check it out at Long Live Classy.

Happy Thursday Everyone!!!!
