Animal Print Scarf

A while ago, I mentioned in one of my posts that I’m a bit hesitant on the whole animal print trend and that I would start by getting an animal print scarf. For my 10 year anniversary of living here in BC, my husband surprised me with an animal print scarf. He told me he was inspired by my post. So this is one of the ways I’ve worn this fabulous scarf.

Coral Top 3 Ways

I bought this top a little while ago and fell in love with the colour, shape and texture of it. Coral is a colour that any woman can wear. It doesn’t matter your skin tone, it brings out the colour in your cheeks and brightens up your face. Since Spring is here and Summer is around the corner, a coral top would be a great addition to your wardrobe. Check out the 3 ways I styled a coral top.

To Mix Prints Or To Not Mix Prints & Tres-Chic Fashion Thursday Link Up

So the title of my post may be a bit confusing, since I love mixing prints. I’m just not sure about mixing these 2 prints. I bought this window pane printed sweater in the Fall and I was looking at the different ways I could style it. I was planning on wearing it with printed pants, but the weather was totally not cooperating, so I opted on wearing them with my skinny jeans. I decided to take a picture and see what you guys think. Would you wear the window pane sweater with these printed pants?

The first few pictures are of how I actually wore the outfit.

Tweed, Polka Dots & Oh It’s Time For New BOOTS :(

I’m not sure about you, but I realize that my outfits follow a sort of pattern. Last year I was totally into layering shirts under sweaters and adding a statement necklace. This year it’s all about the blazer. Do you find yourself preferring a certain style over another? Do you find that your style changes each year?

You guessed it, today’s outfit post is all about a blazer. I can’t get enough of wearing a blazer over a graphic tee and adding some sort of sparkly necklace to it. This blazer is a navy blue tweed one with polka dot linking and has elbow patches on it. Gotta say I never thought I would wear elbow patches but I love it. I love how it adds a subtle detail to the jacket and so does the polka dot linking. When I look for what style of blazer to buy, for instance, I like to look at ones that have little subtle details that make it unique and different. I immediately fell in love with this one from the Gap.

Gotta say I’m soooooo not impressed with the quality of boots nowadays!!! I bought this pair 2 years ago and the other day, during pouring Monsoon like rain, my right foot quickly realized that the boot is no longer water proof!!!! Seriously, these boots are 2 years old, granted I do wear them a lot, but is it too much to ask for, for boots to last a little longer then 2 years?!?!?!?!? This is the second pair that this happened to. NOT IMPRESSED!!!!!! What kills me the most is that these weren’t cheap boots either. Last pair were, so I thought this time I would spend a little more, well in this case it doesn’t matter what you spend, they are all made the same, CRAP!!!! Sorry for my vent, but it does bother me that they don’t make things to last at all. The boots that I am referring to are the ones in the above outfit picture. I guess my post last week on boots, read here, will come in handy. Thankfully boots are now on sale. I can’t be the only one that this has happened to, or am I???

Thank you for listening to my rant.

May this blog inspire you to buy a fabulous blazer for Spring and/or the rest of this extremely long Winter and to find a pair of boots that won’t leak.

Last Friday, Feb 14, kicked off a weekend of celebration. Friday was Valentine’s Day and Saturday was my husband’s birthday. Traditionally we get a heart shaped pizza for Valentine’s Day and this year was no different. We had a lot of fun. We started the day off by exchanging gifts. We all had chocolates on the brain :). Below are pictures of us celebrating Valentine’s Day and my husband’s birthday.

So I’ve been a bit distracted lately and have been battling computer problems, hence less posts. Anyways I’m hoping that my computer problems are fixed. I noticed that this week I hadn’t planned a co-host. Not sure how that happened, but I guess me being distracted hasn’t helped. Like many of you, I’m trying to juggle everything. Got lots of reading to do for work and a cupcake order for the beginning of March, plus just trying to do every day things and planning a couple of trips for the Fall has kept my brain quite occupied and distracted. So I apologize that if recently my posts have been bit disjunct and that I don’t have a co-host for this week. Instead I decided to feature 5 favourite looks from last week. Gotta say ladies, you all have amazing outfits each and every week. You make it hard for me :).

It’s that time of the week for my link up. Thank you to all 94 of you fabulous ladies who linked up last week!!!! A great turn out. THANK YOU!!!!!!! :) Let’s try and get 100 this week :) If you are interested in co-hosting please email me at vodkainfusedlemonade@gmail.com. A La Preppy

It’s no secret that my style is somewhat preppy and this outfit is no exception. I’ve had this gingham top in my closet for a while now and I realized on Monday that I haven’t worn it much, so I chose to add a cardigan, skinny jeans, boots and statement necklace, and make it into an outfit. That’s pretty much my uniform during Winter: skinny jeans, boots, cardigan and statement necklace. What’s your go-to outfit during Winter?

I hope you all had good weekend. I’m looking forward to this weekend coming up. High Tea that got postponed a few weekends ago is now a go and looking forward to having some friends over to celebrate the Super Bowl. Now to just get through this week :)!!!!!

Blazer, Polka Dot Blouse and Red Statement Necklace

As I was looking at the other post where I wore this necklace, I realized that I gave that post the same title as I was giving this one. Good thing I checked it out. This is an outfit I wore last Thursday. I looked in my closet and saw this polka dot blouse and realized that I haven’t worn it in a while so I decided to pair it with a pair of skinny jeans, a boyfriend blazer, booties and Stella & Dot’s gorgeous Mae Necklace. I apologize for the picture quality as I had to take them indoors as it was pouring rain outside. I recently had a Stella & Dot party and purchased the Mae Necklace from Stella & Dot. When I first received it I wasn’t sure what I would wear it with, but it seems to work really well with polka dots. This necklace would go with pretty much anything in your closet. It’s a great way to spice up a neutral outfit. Great way to give it some colour and sparkle. Click here to see the other outfit I wore this necklace with.

Red, Polka Dots, Flowers & Tres-Chic Fashion Thursday Link Up

As you guys are well aware, one of my favourite looks for Fall is layering a sweater over a button shirt and adding a statement necklace. I bought this polka dot button shirt from the Gap a few months ago and I can’t stop wearing it. It’s so versatile. I love it. And well the rose beaded necklace from J Crew, speaks for itself. This outfit is perfect for Fall keeping me warm and if need be allow me to remove some layers. So ladies the next time you’re planning an outfit, try layering a sweater over a button shirt, add a great necklace and a blazer or trench coat and you’re set for the day.

Just Add A Blazer

I am a strong believer in adding a blazer to your outfit. It not only keeps you warm but it’s great completer piece. Fall is the perfect season to dust off your blazers, dry clean them and start wearing them. The weather here has been less than shall we say cooperative. You don’t know from one minute to the next what will happen, so a blazer is the perfect way to keep you warm and dry.

Here are some blazers I’ve worn in the past week for going out, taking my son to preschool and errand running:

Going Out

Black and White Stripe Blazer

Blazer (Jacob). Pants (RW & Co.). Shoes (Tory Burch). T-Shirt (Gap). Necklace (J Crew). Purse (Coach).

I wore this outfit to go to see The Butler a few weeks ago. You guys know much I love stripes and this blazer is the perfect way to complete this outfit. Please excuse my messy t-shirt. This is what happens when you take your own pictures. You have no one to tell you that your shirt needs to be adjusted :).

Taking My Son To PreSchool

Cord Blazer

Jacket (RW & Co.). Top (Gap). Jeans (J Brand c/o Aritzia). Shoes (Tory Burch). Purse (J Crew). Necklace (Coach). Watch (Michael Kors). Bracelets (Stella & Dot).

I wore this outfit to take my son to his first day of preschool. It’s actually his second year, so I was fortunate and comfortable enough to just drop him off for the 1 hour.

I wore both of these outfits to run errands. They are comfortable and stylish and great for this transitional weather we are having.
