Polka Dots and Stripes

I was inspired for this outfit by the wonderful Tara from Mix and Match Fashion. She styled a striped skirt with a cute sleeveless blouse. It gave me the idea of styling my red and white striped skirt with my sleeveless polka dot blouse. I don’t wear this blouse much and I’m trying to find new ways of styling it. I love how the outfit turned out.

Mixing Print: Polka Dots & Stripes

This year it’s all about mixing prints. It seems as though the craziest the combination is the better, it is. My outfit is far from being crazy. I don’t think that black and white polka dots and stripes qualify as crazy but I’m ok with that. I’ve never been a crazy fashionista. I’m more a classic kind of gal. The other day Summer decided to make another appearance so I decided to pair my polka dot top with striped shorts. I added a statement necklace and finished the outfit off with sandals and a cross-body bag.

Polka Dots, Princess Castle Cake & Tres-Chic Fashion Thursday Link Up

Last weekend ended the almost week and a half long birthday celebration for my son. We had his birthday party with his friends on Saturday and boy did he have fun. It was so much fun to watch him interact with his little friends. He was such a good host. He greeted everyone as they came and then he hugged everyone as they left. I think everyone had a good time. I was exhausted after it was all said and done, but it was worth it. The look on his face when he walked into the room and saw it decorated it and then when he saw his cake, made all the hard work worth it. Below are pictures of what I wore, his princess castle cake and some family pictures. These pictures were all taken with my new camera :)

In my relief that I was able to carry the cake safely to my son, I accidentally blew out the candle. I breathed a sigh of relief and it went out. Kind of funny and at least my son wasn’t upset. We relight the candle and all was good.

Blazer, Polka Dots and Mae Necklace

I wore this outfit to a play date a while ago. The weather here has been so nice that I didn’t even have to wear a Winter coat. I love blazers and I think you can’t have enough of them. They are great for layering and changing up the look of an outfit. I decided to wear my blazer with my polka dot blouse and added this fabulous statement necklace from Stella & Dot. I did need to add this polka dot scarf to keep me warm.

If you find yourself in a conumdrum in the morning as to what to wear try adding a blazer over a fitted shirt, add a statement necklace and you’re ready to go. Basically my answer to most fashion dilemmas is to add a jacket and a statement necklace.

May this blog inspire you to try adding more blazers to your outfits.

Mixing Patterns: Gingham & Polka Dots

Last week was a busy one. My son started his second year of preschool on Thursday. Below is a picture of him.

Before starting this blog I would shy away from colours, textures and patterns. Honestly since starting this blog, I’ve definitely become braver in my fashion choices. Fall is all about prints and mixing them together, so I decided to mix gingham and polka dots
