Denim Vest 3 Ways & Tres-Chic Fashion Thursday Link Up

I’m back!!!!! I took the past few days off because honestly last week’s craziness finally caught up to me. Now I’m back with a great post on styling a denim vest 3 ways and with my weekly Tres-Chic Fashion Thursday Link Up :)

When I was doing my building your Summer wardrobe series, I fell in love with the denim vest. At first I wasn’t sure how to style it and if I would be able to get my money’s worth, but let me tell you, the denim vest is like a cardigan or blazer. It’s the perfect completer piece. You can style it over a dress, over a simple t-shirt with leggings or over a t-shirt and maxi skirt. The possibilities are endless. It’s the perfect Summer wardrobe staple. Below are 3 ways I styled my denim vest:

Denim Vest

Style it over a dress with runners, fedora and crossbody bag

Denim Vest

Vest (Old Navy). Dress (Gap). Runners (Converse c/o The Bay). Fedora (Aritzia). Purse (Fossil c/o The Bay). Bracelet (The Bay).

Style it with a graphic tee, leggings and flats

Denim Vest

Vest (Old Navy). Graphic Tee (JAC). Leggings (Jacob). Flats (Tory Burch). Necklace & Bracelet (Stella & Dot).

Style it with a maxi skirt, t-shirt and sandals

Denim Vest

Vest & Graphic Tee (Old Navy). Skirt (J Crew). Sandals (Aldo). Bracelet (Henry Lou).

Below are 3 great options for a denim vest:

As you can see a denim vest is a great alternative to a jean jacket, cardigan or blazer. It’s a neutral, basic piece that is easily incorporated into your wardrobe.

Shorts 5 Ways

I’m so excited for shorts season to finally begin. The weather here has been taunting us. Mother Nature gives us a couple of gorgeous days, and then takes it back and gives us cold and the rain. But ever the optimist, I’m hoping that in a few weeks the warm weather will be here to stay. When I think of Summer, I think of shorts. I think of getting my pasty white legs tanned. I love that shorts come in all shapes, sizes and lengths. Gotta say that I’m kind of liking the short shorts, not the Daisy Duke kind, but the ones that still flatter those of us that are over 30 and are mothers. Below are 5 different ways I styled shorts.

Shorts

Style it with a blazer, shorts and wedges

Shorts

Blazer (RW & Co.). T-Shirt & Necklace (J Crew). Shorts (Reitmans). Wedges (Aldo).

Style it with a white tee and sandals

Shorts

Style it with a blouse layered under a sweater and wedges

Shorts

Blouse (Gap). Sweater & Purse (J Crew). Shorts (Reitmans). Wedges (Steve Madden). Bracelet (Gigglosophy).

Style it with a printed blouse

Shorts

Shorts (RW & Co.). Blouse (Gap). Necklace (Coach). Purse (J Crew). Sandals (Aldo).

Style it with a tank top and fedora

Shorts

Tank Top & Shorts (RW & Co.). Fedora (Aritzia). Sandals (Aldo). Purse (J Crew). Necklace (Stella & Dot). Bracelet (Henry Lou).

Below are 8 great affordable options from Old Navy:

Shorts

Shorts

All of these shorts are on sale until May 7 for $15.

I was not sponsored by Old Navy. This is just a great deal and wanted to share it with others.

Shorts are not just for the park anymore. You can dress them up with a blazer and heels or dress them down with a simple white tee and sandals. There are so many different ways you can wear shorts. My favourite way is to add a blazer, t-shirt and wedges. Shorts are so versatile and will make a great addition to your wardrobe. Try getting a printed pair and see all the fabulous outfits you can make.

May this blog inspire you to purchase some shorts this Spring and see all the great outfits you can create.

Happy Hump Day Everyone!!!!!

Hats and Halloween Cupcakes

This is what I wore today. I love the detailing on the neckline of this sweater, and of course you can’t go wrong with skinny jeans, booties and this adorable 20′s inspired “Cloche” hat. Today was the perfect day to wear this outfit.

Hat and Sweater (R W & Co.). Jeans (Gap). Booties (Fergalicious).

I’ve had my eye on this style of hat for a long time, and last week I bought it. I love its classic look and the fact that it’s different from other types of hats out there. I’m sure the remake of “The Great Gatsby” had a lot to do with the return of the “Cloche” hat.

Hat (R W & Co.).

Over the past few years, I have become quite a hat person. They are perfect to wear all year around and when you are having a bad hair day, they come in quite handy :). Below are the different hats that I own.

My version of the Paige Boy Hat

The Cloche Hat

My version of the Fisherman/Bucket Hat

The Beanie Hat

The Fedora

Here are some great options.

1. Old Navy 2. Forever 21 3. Aldo

I mentioned in a previous post that I make cupcakes for an inner city school. I started last Fall and had a blast doing it, so I volunteered to do it again this year. Since my health scare, I haven’t been able to do much and had to postpone the September birthdays, until now. I try and do themes every month, and since Halloween is one week away I made Halloween themed chocolate cupcakes. Below are pictures of the cupcakes I made.

It’s a devil’s food chocolate cupcake with swiss meringue buttercream. The tombstone and green hand are made out of chocolate.

This guy is also a chocolate cupcake covered with swiss meringue buttercream, white chocolate skeleton and oreo cookie crumbs.

The two side by side

22 cupcakes, snuggly packed, and ready to be eaten!!! :) 22 cupcakes, snuggly packed, and ready to be eaten!!!

You can find more of my creations at Agi’s Creations on Facebook.

May this blog inspire you to use hats to accessorize and/or to hide “bad hair days”, to make your own spooky creation this Halloween and to volunteer to help out kids in need.

Happy “Hump” Day Everyone!!! :)
