Pink Linen Blazer 2 Ways

I fell in love with this pink/blush linen blazer from Banana Republic. When I saw it, I knew it would be the perfect blazer to transition me from Winter to Spring to Summer. The only down side is that it wrinkles very easily, but otherwise it’s perfect. I never used to like the colour pink, don’t know why, but I honestly hated it. I am finding that as I’m getting older, I tend to be drawn to pink things. Who knew getting older would make me appreciate the colour pink more !!!!

I know that you guys are well aware that I absolutely love blazers and they are the perfect completer piece to any outfit. If you are stumped for what to wear, throw on a t-shirt, skinny jeans, add flats, a statement necklace and a blazer to finish off your look. This is definitely my go-to outfit when I’m stumped as to what to wear. Blazers don’t have to be boxy or make you feel like you work in an office. When I wear blazers, I feel more put together, yet still feeling not overly dressed up. Below are 2 ways that I’ve worn this fabulous blazer.

Pink, White & Stripes

A few weeks back, Mother Nature decided to be kind to us and she showered us with sunshine and a beautiful warm day. I decided to break out my white skirt for the occasion. I love this skirt because the fabric is thick but not too warm and it has lining underneath so that you don’t have to worry about showing the world your underwear colour. Here’s hoping for some more hot weather coming our way.

I’ve got some exciting news. We finally got a new camera!!! We got a Canon Rebel T3i. So excited!!!!!! I’m still trying to get the hang of it and learn all the different settings, but I’m really looking forward to having better pictures of my outfits. I can’t believe the difference it makes having a good camera. Don’t get me wrong a point and shoot is a great camera but it doesn’t compare to the quality of an SLR camera. My favourite feature is the ability to take continuous pictures. I took like 20 pictures of my son jumping on his trampoline, all taken at various different stages of his jump. Played back, it looks like a mini movie. I love it. I’m hoping to have some new fashion posts taken with the camera this week!!!

I’m so excited for shorts season to finally begin. The weather here has been taunting us. Mother Nature gives us a couple of gorgeous days, and then takes it back and gives us cold and the rain. But ever the optimist, I’m hoping that in a few weeks the warm weather will be here to stay. When I think of Summer, I think of shorts. I think of getting my pasty white legs tanned. I love that shorts come in all shapes, sizes and lengths. Gotta say that I’m kind of liking the short shorts, not the Daisy Duke kind, but the ones that still flatter those of us that are over 30 and are mothers. Below are 5 different ways I styled shorts.

Pink, Stripes & Pangea Giveaway

One of my favourite blazers is this peachy pink one from Banana Republic. I can’t get enough of it. I love wearing it with a white top, skinny jeans, statement necklace and my striped loafers. I’m really looking forward to pairing it with some dresses and shorts once this weather finally warms up.

In the past 6 years I’ve made a conscious effort to try and minimize the amount of chemicals my family and I ingest, from make up, to every day household cleaning products, to beauty products to food. Sometimes it’s harder to find affordable, chemical free products and Pangea Organics is a great option.

I’ve teamed up with Pangea Organics Canada to giveaway their fabulous Canadian Pine with white sage Hand Soap and Egyptian Fennel with grapefruit and sweet orange lip balm. I’m not the biggest fan of pine scented things, but I really enjoy it in their hand wash. It’s just the right amount pine scent and it’s a nice alternative to the normal lavender scented ones I usually buy. I like that it doesn’t dry out your hands and it comes out in the form of foam. Their lip balm is an interesting combination of scents: fennel, grapefruit and orange. I like that it’s bigger than the traditional size of lip balm. I find that it leaves your lips not sticky or too shiny and that it conditions your lips so that they feel nice and soft.

Cobalt Pleated Midi Skirt

I purchased this gorgeous cobalt pleated midi skirt last year and haven’t really worn it much. I thought Easter would be the perfect opportunity to wear it again. The picture was not from Easter as I didn’t get around to taking an outfit picture, instead I recreated it a few days ago. Midi skirts are huge for Spring. If you’re wondering what the heck is a midi skirt? It’s a skirt that sits between knee length and floor length. It should sit around your calf. They come in all shapes and sizes. Gotta say I’ve developed a new found love for my midi skirt.

This past weekend was Easter and we definitely took advantage of some much needed Family time. We had 4, yes 4, Easter Egg hunts!!! Someone was a spoiled kid!!!!! I bought this cute shift dress from J Crew a few seasons ago and I love how versatile it is. I can wear it during Winter paired over a turtleneck and boots and then in the Spring I can wear it with a cardigan and rain boots or style it simple with flats. A shift dress is a must in every woman’s closet. It’s flattering and can be dressed up or down. You can even pair them with converse runners for chasing after your kid :).

Day To Night Tulle Skirt From eShakti

When eShakti contacted me a few months ago to review an item from their new Spring line and I saw their tulle skirt, I immediately jumped at the chance!!!!! Ever since I saw SJP wear this gorgeous tulle skirt on Sex and The City, I’ve been in love. You know the one I’m talking about and if you don’t, here it is:

Even my husband was excited when I showed him a picture of the skirt. What I like about eShakti, is that they make all their clothes to fit you. You input your measurements and length of skirt you desire and voila, a made to order skirt. Mine arrived last week and I literally squealed from excitement!!!! I know exactly where I’m going to wear this gorgeous piece to. I’m going to see Wicked with a friend in June and this is the perfect skirt for it. Since Wednesdays are usually my feature one item different ways day, I thought I would feature this amazing skirt 2 ways: from day to night. Although this tulle skirt is quite fancy, it would be a great to wear to a ladies luncheon during the day or for a date night out for the evening. (I apologize, the skirt is in need of a good steam)
